Dr. Carpenter has a proven record of success in hospital medicine leadership, administration, and physician development technology. He completed his residency at St. Louis University in both internal medicine and pediatrics and later worked as a hospitalist and hospital medicine chief before joining Sound Physicians in 2014. As a regional medical director for Sound Hospital Medicine, Dr. Carpenter developed and piloted many innovative programs to reduce readmissions and improve patient outcomes. He has received Sound’s highest awards for both innovation and integrity. In 2018, Dr. Carpenter helped launch Sound Telemedicine, which now includes acute and post-acute programs in over 250 facilities nationwide. He is a Society of Hospital Medicine Senior Fellow and is a member of the American Telemedicine Association, American Association of Physician Leadership, and the American College of Physicians.
