John Dickey, MD, CMO of Value-Based Care and Sound Long Term Care Management

John Dickey is Sound Physician’s Chief Medical Officer of Value Based Care and Sound’s Long Term Care ACO. He joined Sound in 2014 as a hospitalist and continues to practice as he works to serve patients and providers across Sound. As CMO he oversees programs in over 300 programs in 41 states which focused on a variety of at-risk patient populations from BPCIA, ACO, ACO REACH, Medicare Advantage, and other patient populations to decrease total cost of care and improve clinical outcomes. He has made significant strides in quality and cost improvements with strategic partnerships of health care plans, hospital systems, and large physician groups. We developed new innovative clinical models to address the care needs of our patient populations that include a dedicated hospitalist team approach, SNF-at-Home model, home health’s Two-Week Protocol, application of Telemedicine to SNF, SNF-at-Home, and home health agencies, and more.  He is now leading Sound Long Term Care Management, Sound’s ACO for long-term care residents, bringing his value-based care approach to improving the quality and cost of care for these patients. John believes that the journey to redesign care is an enormous opportunity to drive patient-centered outcomes and improve quality for our patients.

John is a married father of four, who enjoys hiking and being in the outdoors. A lifelong educator, he once taught science and math at the junior high level.
