Sound Physicians Hosts a Complimentary Webinar: Performance Feedback, Transparency, and Driving High-Value Healthcare
Thought leaders describe lessons learned from using data to engage physicians and drive improvement
Tacoma, Wash – March 8, 2018 – Sound Physicians, a leading healthcare organization focused on improving quality and lowering cost throughout the acute episode of care, will host a complimentary webinar on March 21, 2018 at 11:00 am Pacific / 2:00 pm Eastern titled “Performance Feedback, Transparency, and Driving High-Value Healthcare.” The webinar will discuss top priorities for hospital leaders, including improving quality, enhancing patient experience, and reducing the cost of healthcare. Based on case studies from different health systems and clinical contexts, physician thought leaders will discuss lessons learned using provider-specific performance feedback to create transparency and drive clinical improvement.
The webinar features guest Vivian Lee, MD, Ph.D., MBA, who served as Senior Vice President for Health Sciences at the University of Utah, Dean of the School of Medicine, and CEO of University of Utah Health Care. As the leader of a four-hospital healthcare system and 18 regional hospital affiliates, as well as a health insurance plan, and more than 1,400 board-certified physicians, Dr. Lee led one of the most innovative and transformative healthcare systems in the country. Utah was the first healthcare system to post patient satisfaction rankings online. This strategy was novel and a bit risky but proved to be an effective way to get providers to focus on the patient experience of care. In May 2017, Dr. Lee began a one-year sabbatical as a faculty member at the University of Utah and also is serving as a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) in Cambridge, MA. John Birkmeyer, MD, Chief Clinical Officer for Sound Physicians and Adjunct Professor, The Dartmouth Institute, will host the webinar.
As Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Birkmeyer works closely with Sound Physicians’ regional leaders and more than 300 hospital partners nationwide to ensure excellence in clinical quality, safety, patient experience, and cost-effectiveness. Under Dr. Birkmeyer’s leadership, Sound leverages technology-enabled clinical workflows and performance feedback to improve patient care and clinical outcomes for Sound’s hospital partners. Before joining Sound, he served as Executive Vice President of Integrated Delivery Systems at Dartmouth-Hitchock Health. Please join us on March 21, 2018 at 11:00 am PST / 2:00 pm EST.
