Sound Physicians Announces Chief of Staff, Megan Zimmermann
Jan. 16, 2015 – Sound Physicians, a leading hospital medicine organization focused on driving improvements in quality, satisfaction, and financial performance of patient healthcare delivery announced the appointment of Megan Zimmermann as the organization’s new Chief of Staff. Zimmermann is responsible for directing Sound’s enterprise-wide management process and managing a variety of special projects with the executive team.
Zimmermann has extensive healthcare and information technology (IT) experience designing and leading operations and systems integration projects, market and strategic planning expertise in State, Local, Higher Education (SLED), and non-profit health IT strategy, specifically related to health care reform. Prior to joining Sound, she was at Kaiser Permanente for seven years and managed a diverse portfolio of technology implementation projects as the Chief of Staff for Kaiser’s Health Plan Business Technology Solutions and Services group – an internal application services organization with over 200 professionals. While at Kaiser, Zimmermann also served as President of Kaiser’s Women in Technology special interest group. Prior to Kaiser, she led strategic planning and business development for the state and local revenue and financial services divisions at Maximus, one of the largest public-sector consulting firms in the US; and was a senior systems integration consultant at KPMG Consulting. Zimmermann received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach, and holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California.
