Sound Physicians Enters Agreement to Provide Hospitalist Services at Two Via Christi Health Hospitals

Leading healthcare organization expands services to Kansas

Tacoma, Wash. – April 30, 2015 – Sound Physicians, a healthcare organization focused on improving quality and lowering cost throughout the acute episode of care, announced an agreement to provide hospitalist services in Wichita, KS for Via Christi Hospital St. Francis and Via Christi Hospital St. Teresa. Via Christi Health is the largest provider of healthcare services in Kansas. Via Christi Hospital St. Francis is a 960-bed hospital offering emergency and trauma care, a regional burn center, pediatric care, a cancer center, joint replacement center, and neurocritical care unit.

Sound Physicians will provide comprehensive hospitalist services with a team of 16 hospitalist physicians, six advanced practitioners, and a chief hospitalist. The nearby Via Christi Hospital St. Teresa is a 68-bed hospital with 24-hour emergency care, six state-of-the-art operating rooms, critical care, and inpatient pharmacy and diagnostic imaging and laboratory services. Sound Physicians will recruit a team of four engaged hospitalist physicians to drive efforts in the quality, satisfaction, and efficiency of inpatient care.
