Sound Physicians Enters Agreement to Provide Hospitalist Services for Akron General Medical Center

Leading Hospitalist Organization Partners with Award-­Winning Academic Hospital

Tacoma, Wash. – Nov. 5, 2013 – Sound Physicians, a leading hospitalist organization focused on driving improvements in quality, satisfaction and financial performance of inpatient healthcare delivery, announced today an agreement to provide hospitalist services for Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio.

Akron General Medical Center is an award-winning 532-bed hospital serving more than 1.2 million people through Northeast Ohio. Akron General Medical Center features 11 medical residency programs and a Level I Trauma Center.

Working with Akron General Medical Center’s leadership team, Sound Physicians will introduce its SoundConnect workflow and communications platform and processes to drive improvements in inpatient care outcomes, as well as financial performance. Sound Physicians will also apply its expertise in building high-performing hospitalist practices, including strong physician leadership, revenue cycle management and a track record of physician recruiting success.
