Sound Physicians Acquires Certain Assets of Inpatient Care Unified, Inc.
Organization Expands Hospital Medicine Presence in Ohio through Acquisition
Tacoma, Wash. – Nov. 13, 2013 – Sound Physicians, a leading hospitalist organization focused on driving improvements in the quality, satisfaction and financial performance of inpatient healthcare delivery, announced today an acquisition of certain assets of Inpatient Care Unified, Inc., in Northeast Ohio. Hospitalists and mid-level providers from Inpatient Care Unified, Inc., will join Sound Physicians and continue to provide care at two hospitals: Akron General Medical Center and Summa Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio.
Between the two hospitals, Sound Physicians will support a team of providers with its SoundConnect™ workflow and communications platform and processes to drive improvements in inpatient care outcomes. In addition, Sound Physicians, a physician-founded and led organization, will also provide hospitalist team leadership, evidence-based workflows, tools and infrastructure.
