Joyful Rounds
In the spirit of the holidays, we want to shine a spotlight on a few clinicians at Sound who’ve gone above and beyond to reflect our core values and bring their best to patients and fellow colleagues alike. We are extremely fortunate to have teams across all our programs who celebrate each other’s successes and invite you to explore a few of our favorite kudos from this year:
Kudos for Ali:
“Ali Heavenridge is a full-time critical care nurse practitioner in Richmond, Virginia. She works in the ICU at three different hospitals and has been instrumental in improving communication systems and designs between the critical care medicine and cardiac surgery teams at one of her sites, Memorial Regional Medical Center.
“Ali has recently been recognized by cardiac surgery and critical care leadership for spearheading change that led to a direct sign-out process from cardiac surgery to critical care medicine on shared ICU patients. Further, the cardiac surgery team shared appreciation for the quality of care consistently delivered by Ali and the positivity that she brings to the team.” — Sound colleague
Kudos for Dr. Shell:
“Dr. Jared Shell was exceptional. He was kind, patient, skilled, and answered all of my questions about my lip sutures. He did a great job with my six stitches!” — Sound patient
Kudos for Kellie, Jessica, and Joyce:
“These three APPs [advanced practice providers] have really stepped up for our team. Their care, compassion, and dedication to our team are amazing! Thank you for all your devotion and excellent care of our patients!” —Keli Ann Lawton, FNP-C, Lead Advanced Practice Provider, St. Joe’s, St. Mary’s and Holy Cross
Kudos for Dr. Post:
“Dr. Brad Post was very informative and showed such compassion and concern for me and my husband.” — Sound patient
Kudos for Amanda:
“During my rounds, I spoke with a patient about her experience with a patient admission. She had such wonderful things to say about nurse practitioner Amanda Johnson. She expressed that early on, her pain management was a bit difficult, and she did not feel the medication she was taking at the time was effective. When the patient spoke with Amanda, she felt her concerns were addressed in real-time and Amanda got her connected with a pain management physician who was able to suggest medication that worked for her.” — Nyack Hospital Patient Experience Department
Kudos for Dr. Collins
“The emergency room doctor, Kristina Collins, MD, treated me, and she was exceptional! She cared about me and what I was experiencing for so many years. She went above and beyond to find the solution to my problem. I wish she could be my doctor every time I have to go to the emergency room. There are good doctors out there who care, and she is most definitely one of them.” — Sound patient
We hope these kind words warm you this holiday season and look forward to continuing to bring better to the bedside in 2024.
