Feb. 18, 2015 – Sound Physicians, a leading hospitalist and transitional care organization, focused on driving measurable improvements in quality, satisfaction, and efficiency throughout the acute episode of patient care, finalized agreements and signed an 11-year lease for the Umpqua Bank Building in the heart of the Central Business District in downtown Tacoma, WA.
Sound Physicians’ office in Tacoma is the organization’s central hub, supporting its national footprint where they manage hospitalist, critical care, and skilled nursing care for nearly 190 hospitals and close to 100 skilled nursing facilities working in conjunction with these hospitals in 34 states. Sound Physicians employs more than 2,400 people nationwide, including more than 1,750 physicians. The administrative support staff in Tacoma includes 150 colleagues, including performance management, compliance, learning and development for Sound’s providers and business colleagues, finance and accounting, medical practice billing, physician and professional recruiting, human resources, communications, and marketing as well as software development.
